That is because I finally got an update on my visa. And not the update I wanted.
Pretty much, I am stuck in the US. Stuck meaning that I can't go to the UK, like I was hoping. And stuck in the US until they send my passport back. With an explanation why I didn't get the visa.
So yeah, my plans for the next year of my life have fallen apart.
Not surprisingly, I was crushed when I found out. The most basic reason for my trying to go to the UK is private and family related, but believe me when I tell you that being refused a visa is the most heartless thing they could do to someone in my position.
But complaining doesn't solve anything, or make me feel any better (well. a little).
You know what does? My dogs. The sunshine (you don't have that in England, HA!). Wine. Jimmy Buffett.
The last part worked out nicely- on the day I got terrible, depressing news, I also got to go to the concert of my favorite singer and idol, Mr. Buffett!
If you want to see a fun, amazing concert, go see Jimmy. He does the concert barefoot. That's pretty awesome.
So long story short, my year was ruined, but Jimmy made me feel better. As he says, "Through all of the islands and all of the highlands, if we couldn't laugh we would all go insane".
