So this is something that I was hesitant to try, not because of the difficulty of making it, but because of the number of ingredients involved. I hate cooking things with more than 5 ingredients, especially if those ingredients are things that you don't normally buy.
In this instance, though, I was not disappointed. One, the taste was most definitely worth it. Two, the ingredients I had to purchase specially have lasted for a long time, as they are only used in small amounts. So, if you are a Peanut Sesame Noodle fan, shell out a little bit for this stuff now, and you will be enjoying it for a long time!
Ingredients
* Makes about 6 side-item sized portions- 1/2 box of spaghetti noodles
- 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, or 3 teaspoons powdered ginger
- 1 medium garlic clove (chopped) or 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons red wine or rice wine vinegar
- 1 1/2 tablespoon Asian Sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 1 teaspoon red peper flakes
- Sesame seeds (to taste)
Anyway, this recipe is supper simple.
1. Cook spaghetti.
2. Mix all other ingredients in a bowl.
At first, it's going to be kind of hard to mix. The oil won't mix with the water, the peanut butter will be clumpy. Don't worry! Let it sit for a few minutes, then go back and mix it more. Eventually you will have a nice creamy sauce.
If you have dogs, this is a very common sight in the kitchen- little cleaners waiting patiently for droppings!
3. Mix the noodles and the sauce. Sprinkle more sesame seeds on top for nice presentation.
4. Enjoy!
As I said, very simple. These taste great hot or cold. I think next time I am going to add in some chicken
