California Dreamin! And Life Decided (at least, another plan planned)

Hello all, from the Golden State!

Yep, I'm over here chillin in Cali :-) I thought, I'm sitting and doing nothing in Florida, might as well do it on the other side of the country! I actually am chillin- it is a little colder than it was in St. Aug! Don't let the "Visit California" advertisements fool you- LA gets cold (especially for people with low cold thresholds, like Floridians).

I'm afraid this aventure doesn't involve too much excitement. I've been to L.A. before, so this trip doesn't involve any touristy things. A little bit of Grammy fun, a few celebrity sightings, but other than that, pretty much doing the same thing I did in Fla.

I'm at my brothers, which is very conveniently located only a few streets from the beach in Santa Monica. I am in walking distance to the famous pier, complete with ferris wheel and trapeze classes. Not that I have the funds to finance it, but I am surrounded by a ridiculous amount of shopping. Perfect for someone visiting without a car!

This is Lenny, who is the sweetest thing ever, particularly because he puts up with "Lenny Torture"- not real torture, unless you call being dressed up in human clothes or being a landing pad for a toy helicopter, torture. Check out #lennytorture on Instagram for examples! He loves it. You will too.

So anyway, I am here for a few more days, and while unfortunately I have to work ( my lessons that start at 7am in Florida start at 4am here. Ew) it is nice to get away from all the visa drama and try to figure out what is really important to me.

Finding out that I wasn't getting back into the UK was absolutely heartbreaking, specifically because of the family troubles that were the main reason for my travelling. But also I am miserable because I am controlled by this desire to get out of town and see the world. I feel like I am wasting my life sitting at home, remembering the adventures I have had so far, and those I want to be having.

However, I have come to realize that I am going to have to make sacrifices for what is more important in life. My man and I are going to start working on a visa for him to move here- no easy task. To do that, I need to be in the country for the duration of the process. I figure, if he is going to sacrifice his country to be with me, I can sacrifice a few months (or maybe a year) for him. So, it looks like there is not going to be much international travel for me anytime soon :-(. But, it will be worth it to have my man with me, and to make our future become our now. Plus, all those places I want to visit aren't going anywhere any time soon. I mean, Venice is sinking, but I've already been there, so no big deal!

Anyway, there it is. I'm here for awhile. Since I can't go to Paris or Italy as I planned, I hope to do more travelling around the US- I haven't visited all the states yet! I hear South Dakota is almost as much as Barcelona, anyway...
