The Real Political Map

Don't worry, I'm not getting into politics.

The election is over, the results are in, and like it or not, the people have spoken.

One thing that does annoy me greatly, though, is the maps showing the differences between "red" and "blue" areas. Because they are not accurate. Just because a place is colored red doesn't mean everyone in that place voted red. And the fact is, people are making incorrect statements about the country and about areas of people because of those maps.

Someone posted this on Facebook, and I think it is great.

Here is the real political map.

Oh hey... That's a lot of purple!

Yes people. Your neighbors? Might not be thinking the same way as you. Rich and poor, populated and sparse, most areas have BOTH colors in them.

So stop making stupid comments about the poor inner-city people, or the close-minded rural people.

And just because someone believes something different from you doesn't mean they are wrong. Or that you are right.

Be glad that you have the opportunity to believe what you want, whatever it may be.
