I'm Addicted to the Doctor...

Here I am, ready with yet another excuse as to why I have been slacking in my blogging. This time, it's not books, or visa stress, but a Doctor.

Specifically, Doctor Who.

As explained on Wikipedia, "Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a Time Lord—atime travellinghumanoid alien known as the Doctor. He explores the universe in his 'TARDIS', a sentienttelepathic time-and-space-travel machine that flies through the time vortex. Its exterior appears as a blue British police box, a common sight in Britain in 1963, when the series first aired. Along with a succession of companions, the Doctor faces a variety of foes while working to save civilisations, help ordinary people, and right wrongs."

The original series went from 1963 to 1989, there was a TV movie in 1996, and the new series has gone from 2005 until the present. Throughout the 33 seasons/ 49 years, there have been 11 "Doctors"- that is, 11 different actors to play the same character. The Doctor doesn't die, but regenerates. Pretty much, they wrote in the perfect explanation for changing actors.

This show is, to me, awesome. One episode will be funny, the next historical, the next scary, then sad, dramatic, romantic, etc. I could never explain them all, so your best bet is to just check out the series. Find it on BBC America, or look on Hulu or Netflix for older episodes.

Here is one of my favorite scenes so far:

Any Doctor Who fans out there? Who is your favorite Doctor? What is your favorite adventure?
